Newport Beach Nose Surgery - Orange County Nose Surgery Specialist (Rhinoplasty)

Nose reshaping, or rhinoplasty, can produce a more pleasing shape to the nose. This can be achieved by reducing or increasing the size of the nose. Other techniques utilized to achieve this result include narrowing the base, smoothing the profile and sculpting the contours of the cartilaginous tip. The procedure may be performed using either a “closed” (endonasal) or “open” technique depending on the problems that exist.

The procedure may be performed in conjunction with a septoplasty if there is significant septal deviation causing nasal obstruction making breathing difficult.

The procedure may be performed under local anesthesia with sedation or general anesthesia in an outpatient setting.

Newport Beach Nose Surgery: Septoplasty vs. Rhinoplasty

- By Sanjay grover

The choice of getting nose surgery ranges for a variety of reasons. If the nose is aesthetically unpleasant to the individual or ill-suited and disproportionate to the other features of the face, they may choose to have a Rhinoplasty to improve the look of their nose. Rhinoplasty of this nature is a cosmetic procedure done for purely aesthetic reasons. Dr. Grover sees patients often in both his Newport Beach and Los Angeles office in reference to Rhinoplasty. Other people may opt for a nose surgery to improve the function of their nose. Many individuals have what is known as a deviated septum which occurs when the cartilage or bone supporting the nose and directing the airflow to and from the nose is crooked which can cause difficulty breathing, snoring and sleep apnea. Nose surgery to correct a deviated septum is called Septoplasty and is a reconstructive procedure done for functional reasons. Many patients of Dr. Grover choose nose surgery to correct both functional and aesthetic issues at the same time.

Nose surgery for both reasons can be extremely rewarding and improve confidence. The procedure’s techniques vary depending on the individual’s needs and goals. The most important step in exploring nose surgery is finding a qualified, board certified plastic surgeon who is experienced in the procedure and comes with high recommendations from both their peers and past patients. Dr. Grover is a world renowned, board certified plastic surgeon located in Newport Beach.

Viewing before and after photos of a plastic surgeon’s previous patients can be extremely useful in understanding the consistency and quality of their work. We ask you to view Dr. Grover’s Orange County Rhinoplasty before and after photos here. You’ll want to understand, however, that each patient that comes in to their office comes in with their own set of goals and concerns which that plastic surgeon is working with.

During your consultation Dr. Grover will examine your nose and ask you about your medical history and lifestyle to determine if you are a good candidate for the procedure. You should also use this time to ask questions.
