Spider veins, also known as telangiectasias, are small, thin red or blue veins, usually less than 1mm in diameter, that lie close to the surface of the skin. They may appear on the face or legs. Causative factors may include pregnancy, hormonal changes and weight gain.
Spider veins may be treated by laser treatments. Laser treatments are relatively quick with mild associated discomfort. Sun tanning should be avoided before and after laser treatments.
